What’s the way ahead in the IT industry???

Recent developments in the context of global IT industries have reinforced questions as to whether the opportunities and the business scope of the software industry is in the path of sustainable development and if the opportunity for the fresher’s in the industry, are being respected. This was brought out by NAASCOM in a survey to figure out the scope for the business in different verticals in IT by the year 2020. The major concerns that the report talks about is not on the traditional comfort zones of the software industries, but on the foreseen challenges that the industry ought to confront and about the emerging new verticals in the IT industries. 

The major issues that an aspirant in IT need to be watchful are -

The scope for the software market is confined to $398 billion USD among $2500 billion USD. This implies that industry cannot expect good number of projects in software development. Since they don’t get the projects the requirement for the software programmers is coming down. Moreover the business scope for other verticals is better than software development. This implies that there is a good demand for those who can fit for the other verticals like Cloud Computing, Remote Infrastructure Management Services, Information Security, Datacenter Engineering, 4G Technology, Data Analytics, Mobility etc.

The Recent IDC report published in Economic Times states that Cloud Computing will generate 15 million jobs by 2015 with India contributing to about 2 millions of it. Regarding the demands of the infrastructure management it is estimated that The IMS industry currently accounts for US$524 billion, nearly a quarter of the US$2.3 trillion overall IT spends and is moving towards a remote delivery model where services are increasingly delivered by vendors from low cost locations. During 2005-2008, the RIM industry in India has grown more than threefold from US $1 billion to US $3.6 billion at over 50 percent year-on-year, significantly higher than the overall industry average of approximately 32 percent. With such a head-start, India could leverage its competitive advantages to acquire a disproportionate share of the opportunity by 2013, i.e. US $13 billion to US $15 billion, and create 325,000 to 375,000 incremental jobs in the process. The potentials of information security services and job market continue to expand. In fact, according to a report by Burning Glass Technologies, over the past five years demand for cyber security professionals grew 3.5 times faster than that for other IT jobs. Employment in the occupational group that includes information security analysts is projected to grow 22 percent from 2010 to 2020, faster than the average for all occupations, according to Eric Presley, CTO at CareerBuilder

Hence to register a comfortable career in the above mentioned domains a professional has to undergo a training program which gives theoretical and practical exposure on the following technical skills and services like

Earning a Red Hat Certified Architect – Just Got Easier!

With the recent Red Hat announcement describing Program Changes in the Red Hat Certified Architect Track, things are so getting easier for RHCA aspirants. The path to earn the much coveted title has been simplified. Passing ANY FIVE CERTIFICATES OF EXPERTISE is all that you need, to achieve the title. It is good news for many who are preparing for the challenge, fantastic news for many who are in the brim of getting the RHCA certification, a little sad news for some who have already achieved the RHCA through the rocky roads of it. However, we believe it is a good change, and we welcome. Get ready guys!

Red Hat Certification – The Program Changes

The professional certification program of Red Hat takes a vivid change from May 15 2014. The new implementation is lively, as there is more flexibility in the Certificates one might choose to earn towards being a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA). The changes will also differentiate Red Hat certified professionals who are current.

Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS) and Red Hat Certified Datacenter Specialist (RHCDS) are being phased out with the release of RHEL 7, but the more widely-known Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) program is let open providing more ways to earn that credential.

Some Main Points -

1. Effective May 15, 2014 Red Hat has lifted the requirement that one must be a current Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) to take EX401, EX413, EX436, and EX442. Read More

Chasing Up the Red Hat Cloud Certification #cloud

In line with the continuing identity change of Red Hat certification programs, Red Hat Inc. announces the introduction of new modules under Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenStack platforms.

Chasing up with the new offerings of Red Hat, IPSR solutions has laid foundation to deliver the the newly launched Cloud training courses. The most recent addition to this line up is Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise Linux Administration, Neutron Networking with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform and High Availability with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform.

As in every Red Hat certifications, one must pass a hands-on practical examination that involves real-world tasks and scenarios, in order to achieve a Red Hat certification.

1. Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise Administration (CL280) -

This course is intended for Cloud administrators and/or System administrators who are implementing their own Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud computing environment using OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat. You will learn how to deploy, configure, and maintain OpenShift Enterprise broker and OpenShift Enterprise node hosts, and you will learn how to deploy and manage applications in the OpenShift Enterprise cloud environment. read more

The voice of Jay

While talking over a coffee with Jay, he was as enthusiastic as ever. Mr. Jay Brahmbhatt is a familiar face and pride of IPSR. He is with IPSR family since 2009 as part of the very first RHCSS batch and 10th RHCSS of IPSR. He is in the campus currently for his Red Hat Server Hardening training.

Jay has always been a busy bee, engaged in something or another whenever he is in. And I was curious to know how someone hailing from a medical background ended up being ‘tech savvy’ 

And there goes Jay: “During my 5th standard while visiting my uncle I always found him studying and I asked what is it about. There I came to know about MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) and started preparing for it” The rest is history - He became world's youngest certified systems engineer at the age of 11 on January 2001. With the confidence bagged from the global achievement he started preparing for the CISCO certifications by May 2001.

"I was good at computers from my childhood and I developed confidence when I became Microsoft's youngest certified systems engineer. I was also the youngest candidate to become CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) at 11," 

“And the association with IPSR?”

 Jay gives a wide grin. “After 5 – 6 years of schooling, I was actually doing nothing and thought of getting back into computers.” The presence of IPSR was unavoidable over the internet and that’s what which caught the eyes of Jay too. After RHCE, while searching for a good training partner for RHCSS, IPSR caught attention as the best training partner of Red Hat in India. “And that was a big decision to take. I had never been to kerala and knew nobody here. I had to admit, I never missed anything. The accommodation, training, the infrastructure for studying purpose and everything was provided by IPSR. It was really a home away from home”

While talking more on his time at IPSR, Jay was getting more zest. I did may courses after RHCSS and have even worked on live servers, but the best lab structure that I had over here is perfect, even from the live server point of view. The instructors were very nice. Even after completing the course, when we come up with any technical issues, I call him up and he provides with all the solutions. And that remains true even till today, after 6 years.”

After 6 years, Jay is happy to see the growth in infrastructure and glad to get trained by the top notch trainers. Jay concludes his conversion saying “It’s a very nice experience coming back over here”
