Linux Seminar at ipsr - a glimpse


It was a pleasant and content-rich session at ipsr penguin planet when the 23 students and 3 faculties of AL – AZHAR College of Engineering gathered to participate in a seminar on the global trends in linux at ipsrian linux trove at Ernakulam South. The session was chaired by Mr. Mohsin Hakkim (Sr. Consultant – Technical Services). The contemporary technology in linux administration and the recent trends in the IT industry were the core of the theme of discussion. The students were highly excited and the entire segment was rated to be exemplary.

As easy as Ubuntu


Ubundu stands out among the various linux flavors for its simplicity in rendering authentic service to the end-users and serve as a compactable desktop to many newbie’s who have migrated or born to linux world. The voice from a ubundu using community remarks that “We use Ubuntu because we need a system that is easy to set up and maintain for the family, that allows them to do what they need and want easily, quickly and without a lot of input”. Its scalability, trustworthiness, fast and stylish ambiance it creates and customization friendly nature has stolen the hearts of million linux lovers. Cloud and Realities


A group of technically empowered people with liberal thoughts and creative ambiance has given birth to a community with openness as its icon. This open source group has always stood for building up better technologies and allowed freedom to look at the codes and to change it for more compatible application. This collaborative process has catalyzed the growth of IT to incredible heights and provides more value to the end users


The open source provides a solid foundation to the emerging technology of cloud computing. It is estimated that over 90% of the public cloud are powered with linux and other open source software. The scalability, stability, performance and robustness to cope with the requirements has propelled the cloud computing technology to crest of major application in IT.


Even when IT community rate Cloud computing as the next step towards future, there are a few who do have a spell of ambiguity in the concept of cloud computing. In a very simple sense cloud computing could be conceived as computer resources delivered as a service through network. With the advent of high speed internet and machines with greater capabilities, cloud computing has gained more popularity and has become a cost effective contemporary technology. The end user even taps into the resources offered by the providers even without realizing that they are availing the benefit of “cloud”

The technology of cloud computing is performed at various levels – public, community, hybrid and private cloud. Private clouds can be considered as the modern day equivalents of the mainframe and terminal solution used by organizations in the past. However, private clouds can now be completely outsourced to a host, who ends up providing the required services and infrastructures, While the end user taps into the resources offered by the provider.

As the technology evolves, larger virtual storage areas will become tangible and servers will gain greater performance capability. The mode of communication between the end user and the service provider will get to a new dimension, where all storage will become cloud based.

Redhat the master vender in linux distribution has established its own platform as the de facto standards for open cloud computing

With its API 1.0 release, Deltacloud offers a variety of front-ends, which is to say interfaces through which users make a request to a cloud provider. New is a basic Amazon EC2 front-end, which can be used to communicate with a variety of cloud providers using the popular Amazon Web Services interface. This is primarily intended for users looking to migrate between EC2 and another cloud provider.

These developments has set the stage to a new era in IT

Sustainable excellence: a mark of ipsrian performance


A quick survey on the attitude of the students joining IPSR revels that “With ipsr we stay relaxed always” for there is no substitute to the care and excellence that ipsr do comply in any activity they venture. The incredible growth in training front and sustainable success in certification programmes has fixed ipsr to a unique position among the learning service providers in the industry. Here are few of the remarks from the student who enjoyed learning from ipsr

Arun Kumar T.P who is a B.Tech graduate and who was an employee joined IPSR after resigning from his job placing upon IPSR the hope of reaching greater heights in his career.He was able to complete his course successfully and he has shared his experience at IPSR.Quoting down his own statements about IPSR:

"Its a great experience for me to study here. Classes were very much effective and easy to understand which were taken taken by Ambu Sir and Mary Miss.And I have no words to say about Aneesh Sir. His co-ordination and his way of dealing with students is very much impressive. And I am personally very happy and thankful to Aneesh Sir for the support he had given me at the stage of my poor physical condition. So once again I can say,  am very very happy to be here at IPSR."


Bibi Babu,a native of Pathanamtitta is a B.Tech graduate and joined for RHCE in July. He successfully completed his RHCE course and examination in the month of August. This is what he had to say about his class and IPSR.

"It was a great experience to do the RedHat course in IPSR.I am thankful to the whole faculties for their valuable support."

Aswin R.M a former IPSRian joined IPSR for his RHCE course.He is 2009 B.Tech pass out and did his CCNA in IPSR Tvm last year.

"It was a good experience to study at IPSR.The classes and lab facilities are good. Faculties are also good.I had done my CCNA and RedHat course here at IPSR."

Nidhin L.S , a B.Tech graduate from Trivandrum joined IPSR for the course of RHCE and successfully completed the course and he had a few words to tell about IPSR
